Immediate Implants

Most of the implants done at Unionville Dentistry are capable of being "immediately loaded". This means that at the time of placing the implant, there is enough stability to allow us to construct the final restoration (crown, bridge or denture) immediately. Therefore, within two to three weeks of placing the implant, the final restoration can be inserted. This is a convenient, more efficient and highly successful way to place dental implants.

"Immediate implants" are implants that are placed "immediately" into the socket of the tooth that it replaces. i.e. the implant is placed into the extraction site at the same appointment, immediately after the root has been removed. If there is enough stability, the final restoration (crown, bridge or denture) can be fabricated and "immediately loaded". This would then be considered an "immediately loaded" "immediate implant".

The procedure chosen depends on several factors, such as your dental health, the number of teeth involved and which teeth are being replaced and the general health of the recipient site. These factors will also determine the total number of visits needed to complete your treatment.
