CrownsA crown or a "cap" is placed on an individual tooth (somewhat like a thimble over your finger) to restore its shape and size, strength, and/or to improve its appearance. A crown when bonded into place fully encases the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Crowns can be made from different materials which include porcelain, various metals or a combination of the two. The majority of the crowns placed at Unionville Dentistry are all-porcelain (no metal). >> more |
